19th Annual Pumpkin Festival!  We are glad that you can join us!  Please print and fill out each of the forms listed below and return to Leigh Gauthier at Davison City Hall, 200 E. Flint St., Davison, MI 48423 or by fax to 810.653.9621.  POWER IS NOT AVAILABLE.  If you have any questions, please call or email Leigh Gauthier at 810.653.2191 or lgauthier@cityofdavison.org. 

 

Also, vendors, be aware that there will be a vendor meeting on Wednesday, October 1  at 6:00 p.m. downstairs at City Hall.  Mr. Rob Losee from the Genesee County Health Department will also be on hand to answer any questions.  Please make sure that you or a representative is able to attend this meeting.

DO DA PARADE

Each year the Pumpkin Festival is kicked off with the Do Da Parade, the City's silly parade!  All parade participants must dress up in costume to participate in the Do Da Parade.  Click on the link below to fill out an application if you wish to participate.  Hope to see you there!

2008 DAVISON PUMPKIN FESTIVAL
Picturesque Downtown Davison is the setting for Davison's annual Pumpkin Festival. This annual festival begins on the second weekend in October on Friday evening at 6:00 p.m. with the DO DA PARADE and ends with the PUMPKIN DROP Saturday night.   Family activities for all ages. Great food! Demonstrations and games.  Craft vendors.  Musical entertainment. An awaited traditional event.  Come fill your senses at Downtown Davison's Pumpkin Festival!

Over the years, many volunteers have made the Festival a huge success to be enjoyed by thousands of visitors. Although the volunteers are too numerous to mention, we appreciate their sharing talents, resources and time.

PUMPKIN CONTEST

Please register from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 11.  Participants may enter as many categories as they wish.  However, only ONE CATEGORY per pumpkin.  The Largest and Most Unusual HOME GROWN entries will be judged according to its shape and color.  Best Carved and Best Painted categories will be divided into the following age groups:

PRE-K thru FIRST GRADE

SECOND GRADE thru FIFTH GRADE

SIXTH GRADE thru NINTH GRADE

TENTH GRADE thru ADULT

Ribbons will be awarded to each age group.  All carving and painting must be completed in advance.  NO WET PAINT allowed.  Do not use items of value for decorating.  Decorate your pumpkin for all kinds of weather.  The Davison Downtown Development Authority or any of its Committee Volunteers will not be held responsible for any breakage, lost or stolen property.  Participants are encouraged to leave pumpkins on display for public display until after the presentation of awards.

 

 

PUMPKIN DERBY

Registration for the Pumpkin Derby is 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 11, 2007.  Pumpkin must have a direct contact to the axle(s) and wheels.  Must be non-motorized.  Races will have weight classes (pumpkin and all attachments = total weight) in the following categories:

8 POUNDS & UNDER

OVER 8 TO 18 POUNDS

OVER 18 TO 28 POUNDS

 

 

HARVEST PIE CONTEST (HOME BAKED)

Categories: 2-CRUST APPLE PIE (2 crusts REQUIRED), DUTCH APPLE PIE, PUMPKIN PIE & FRUIT PIE.  Registration 11:00 a.m. to noon on Saturday, October 11, 2007.  Judging is at 12:00 Noon.ÂEntry fee is a second pie to be auctioned at 1:00 p.m.  Proceeds go to the Davison Area Chamber of Commerce.
